Yes I'm still alive and yes I'm still blogging......sort of.
But you know, I can get lazy from time to time.
Here's what I've been up to as of lately.

Visual Craft TV Ep 3: Torn Denim Shorts
Hey spring are you here yet? Well instead of waiting for you, I'm going to get a head start on my wardrobe.
I love high rise bottoms and I love torn denim shorts. Sometimes it's hard to find a good pair that fits correctly or that isn't sold out, or overpriced.
I'm going to show you how you can make your own pair of torn denim shorts so you are Coachella ready!
I'm getting a little bit better talking in front of the camera, no?
Off to NYC
Currently I am frantically running around my (unusual) messy room still packing for my flight to New York. I'm really excited to be given the opportunity to go see some shows and even shoot at one!!! Oh yeah, insert "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT FACE" here.
So with that being said I will be writing here, if and when I have time to rest, however if you would like to see and/or watch my New York adventure then follow me
on instagram @eboneeshanay
or find me on Vine @ Ebonee Shanay
I promise you won't regret it!!!!!

Wild Style Store Opening
I remember my first time accidentally walking into Joyrich and thinking an overly extended "Woooow", the type where your jaw drops for a few minutes. Fast forward to last week, yes fast forward to the past, and I find myself at the opening of Wild Style which is like an extension of Joyrich. The colors, the oversize candy pillows, cupcakes, amazing people, familiar faces, new faces, famous faces, and the most kick-ass DJ's ever made the night a good one, and made me wonder why can't other parties in LA pull this off?
Oh! And should I also mention that my girl crush Mademoiselle Yulia was there! And I got to meet her which made my night feel like cloud 9!
A little video to show you in action what the night was like.

Creative director/Designer David Melgar

Chris Brown showed up to say hello.

Yulia! Love the jewels.

Onch wearing his new jewelry for F21!

iphone covers designed by Choco Moo. I will be back to get this one.

Skingraft S/S 2013
Calling all leather lovers and gladiators, if you're into the whole leather and sports thing then Skingraft's S/S 2013 collection was made for you.
As soon as the models walked out and one by one were presented on pedestals, my jaw dropped and my mind instantly began to chant "leather".
The show consisted of an all black collection, obviously my favorite, to a black, white, and red collection. Laser cut leather, motorcycle vests, mesh, leather shorts, leather shirts, and those wedges! The shoes were an instant crowd attraction and people flocked in closer to get a better look at the sleek gladiator style footwear.
As the models began to leave for their second outfit change, a special performance from Boychild was being held in true wicked fashion. Wearing pieces from the Skingraft collection, Boychild performed an eerily but mesmerizing modern style butoh dance throughout the show.
Photos do not do this collection any justice. To see it in person and to literally press your eyeballs against the fabric, to see the detailing in the stitching, is the real cake topper.
Visual Craft TV Ep1: Floral Crown
As promised I made an awkward youtube channel that is going to be filled with DIY!
Check it out and let me know what you think or want to see!

The Fashion FPS
I'm really in love with this video. The way that you can see the camera lens in the shot, a POV style, and the video matches the photos. Excellent!
Very inspiring indeed.
I watch this and daydream about being in Paris during fashion week. People frantically going by, fashionable people showing their unique style, and swarms of photographers all trying to get a good shot shouting things out. I don't know why that interest me, maybe I just like chaos.
Boho style in & out
I really like this video. Living in LA all I ever see is boho and gypsy inspired looks. Honestly it gets old and annoying, it just seems so forced. I can't tell you how many times I get girls that ask me where they can find a "indian" print dress. It's one thing to look bohemian but to live the lifestyle too is another thing. Fashion isn't just an appearance, it's a lifestyle too.
Good feeling
With all these pastel colors running around for spring, my all black closet is getting some color and it makes me feel......
Shady Business
Finally it is here. If you don't remember this shoot it's from when I took photos for vintage eye. Check it out here.
Honestly I'm glad to have this over with because now I can focus on my own shoots.
Monochrome Creeper
"Marley Hunter は ミッドナイトクリーパー です!
Beautiful, deadly, and enchanting. Marley Hunter is the midnight creeper!"
Here's another one straight from the Michelle Paulsen laboratory. I love walking into the studio and seeing what Michelle has conjured up for the day. It's always an exhilarating experience.
To see more on the shoot check out her blog here.
I got inspired by the Lou Donaldson album under the same name and have been dying to use a rock song from one of my favorites Hide. And I always loved black & white horror movies opening credits with the dramatic music and sudden freeze frame.
A perfect fit just before Halloween.

What a week & a half it has been. Shooting a video, which was the pleasure and highlight of my lazy Sunday, creating fliers and getting stuff ready for a show, networking. All of this I hope(pray & wish) is a glimpse of my future. Fashion photographer extraordinaire here I come. But for now I'm ready to unwind near the beach, Monterey here I come. Dear Lord please don't be foggy!

Gaga & Bonez
I'm in love with this video and the song. Lady gaga you are ruling my heart. I love the black and white texture of the video and of course the skull! Oh yes and the men fashion too.
I watched the gaga-thon on fuse tv....yes I watch a good day of the marathon and she did an interview saying the skeleton painting was inspired by surrealism. It kinda reminds me of Fumie Sasabuchi's work.

Now that's good stuff.
