Elin Kling style inspiration

While I'm sitting here looking so atrocious and worn down from all the running around I've been doing, I can't help but to plan what to wear to New York!  I somehow find time to gather inspiration and ideas of what I can wear that's both warm for the ice tomb that is awaiting me and fashionable because let's face it, NYFW is not fashion week without the street fashion.
Although I'm teetering on the idea of just wearing multiple sweaters at once and walking around with a portable heater, yes that California weather has me spoiled, I have found that no one does the "I'm warm but still freaking fashionable" look better than Elin Kling.

Get ready for it...

Do you like DIY and Arts & Crafts? I love it and I've been doing DIY since I was a kid. I've always wanted to launch a youtube channel and do tutorials and videos. So I put that goal on hold and focused on other productive and not so productive things. If you follow me on instagram then you will see some of the DIY's I have done from an all black floral crown, torn denim, and even replacing the sleeves on a shirt with leather. A lot of people come up to me and ask me where I bought these things and are pretty surprised to find out that I made them.
So with that said I'm going to share my crafts with you! In the next couple of weeks I will launch my first DIY & Crafts episode on visualcraftTV!
Things you can count on seeing are floral crowns (as requested by a friend), leather sleeves, transparent clutches not in rectangular form!, and much much more!

I want to make the crafts as easy but innovative as possible. I'm really excited to start crafting with you all.

The Fashion FPS

I'm really in love with this video. The way that you can see the camera lens in the shot, a POV style, and the video matches the photos. Excellent!
Very inspiring indeed.

I watch this and daydream about being in Paris during fashion week. People frantically going by, fashionable people showing their unique style, and swarms of photographers all trying to get a good shot shouting things out. I don't know why that interest me, maybe I just like chaos.

Alexander McQueen DIY Inpiration

Alexander McQueen Sweatshirt from here

I love you Alexander McQueen but $1440 is not in my budget. So if you don’t mind I’m going to take this as a DIY inspiration.
Video on this soon? Like next week-ish? I say yes.

Trippple the Nippples, Trippple the fun

Recently Judy and I took a mini road trip to go see Trippple Nippples.  My ears will never be the same after hearing them live.

Yoko Vibe

Lately I've been busy with work and filming and photographing, so during this hectic time I've been daydreaming about peace. Mostly peace with my schedule and Yoko Ono.

Also earth hour is coming up today(March 31) at 8:30pm. For more info check out this link. Peace!

See you later grandmother

My grandmother passed away last night. Hearing the news wasn't the hard part, it was watching my sister cry and become physically sick.
I told my sister that we shouldn't look at this as a loss, instead treasure the moments and memories that we did have with her.

My grandmother loved to get dressed up. She loved to wear anything with sequins, fur, feathers, etc. If it stood out she wore it. She also loved the color red just like her mother did.
She was a fighter, literally, and the stories I heard about her running around a small town in Florida fighting any tough man in sight made me wonder how my nice ol' grandmother that baked cakes and loved fig newtons could ever left hook a guy? I remember those humid summers in Florida and my grandmother getting me up and ready for church. We would always arrive early and she would always fight for the microphone. She was never the best singer in the world but I admired the fact that she would sing no matter how many people would cover their ears. After the service she would always hand me a semi-melted peppermint candy that had been sitting in her purse for what seemed like forever.
She loved popcorn and ice cream. She loved dogs and growing fresh vegetables. She loved her children and she loved her grandchildren.
She loved everything and always viewed the world as an adventurous child.

I admire her for her courage, even during her stubbornness I admired her.

My mom always told me to never say goodbye. Instead you say see you later. So to my grandmother I will see you later.

Monochrome Creeper

"Marley Hunter ミッドナイトクリーパー です!
Beautiful, deadly, and enchanting. Marley Hunter is the midnight creeper!"

Here's another one straight from the Michelle Paulsen laboratory. I love walking into the studio and seeing what Michelle has conjured up for the day. It's always an exhilarating experience.
To see more on the shoot check out her blog here.

I got inspired by the Lou Donaldson album under the same name and have been dying to use a rock song from one of my favorites Hide. And I always loved black & white horror movies opening credits with the dramatic music and sudden freeze frame.
A perfect fit just before Halloween.

Late Night Creeping

Here's a sneak peek of the recent shoot with Michelle Paulsen.
These are screen caps I took while making the video. So much fun and Marley is stunning as always.
I can't wait to finish the video. Drawing inspiration from Lou Donaldson's "Midnight Creeper".

Harlem meet Cruella DeVille

Topshop's Unique A/W 2011 collection. A-MA-ZING!
It's like the Harlem renaissance and Cruella de Vil got together and created a beautiful jazz like dalmatian family.

All items from Topshop. Clothing from the Unique A/W 2011 collection.

Lanvin F/W 2011

I can't get this collection out of my head.

So I know this is probably all over everyone blog and has flooded everyone facebook & tumblr but come on! How can you not be enchanted by this collection. I don't know if it's the fun, off rhythm dancing or if it's the colorful dresses but this collection has it. And what about the men clothing!!! Woah sexy!

feel my bones on your bones

Right now the Philippines is on my "must watch" list for underground fashion. Little do people know that the Philippines is growing in fashion and as of now I just found my new favorite jewelry designers.

OS is an accessory line that specializes in making my favorite thing in the world, bones! They also include bolts in their pieces to give the bones a sort of industrial look.

And this vertebrae harness needs to get in my closet asap.

Brilliant!

Survive

My dream in life is to be a fashion photographer and a cinematographer. I want to create beautiful photographs and create videos that can take someones breath away. I really want to be a photographer for V Magazine, I want to work with Lady Gaga on her next shoot. All of these dreams can come true with hard work. So here's to working hard and maybe one day this will be me.

"I'm on the right track baby, I was born to survive" -Lady Gaga

More shoots to come soon & more street shots too!!! Here's to working hard!

Danielle Scutt

Eye see you!

Yazbukey surrealist blue eye hat. Everything from Yazbukey is in my wishlist, especially the Karl Lagerfeld brooch. The C'est Ahh necklaces! Everything is in my wishlist. If cartoons came to life they would definitely wear Yazbukey. However if you're still looking for something surreal and affordable then Danielle Scutt has you covered.

Danielle Scutt for Topshop double fan lipstick earrings! Woah!
You can spot Danielle Scutt's different lipstick earring designs in her A/W 11 show below. I can't wait to get my hands on these earrings and sport them with everything. A lbd, a white button down, even with my new thrift Hawaiian dress (more pics on that later)

Gaga & Bonez

I'm in love with this video and the song. Lady gaga you are ruling my heart. I love the black and white texture of the video and of course the skull! Oh yes and the men fashion too.

I watched the gaga-thon on fuse tv....yes I watch a good day of the marathon and she did an interview saying the skeleton painting was inspired by surrealism. It kinda reminds me of Fumie Sasabuchi's work.

Now that's good stuff.

Dedication & Drive

“I know that I will work hard and I will give it my all. I just hope to be a part of a good team. We will win some and of course we will lose some, but I hope we will have the dedication and drive.”

-Andee Whitaker

Went to a event where the designer showcased his shoe designs. And the interior of the store was crazy amazing. It was really packed too and it was raining like crazy. A few days later I went to barnes & noble and saw the Kenzo book. I really wanted it but it wasn't worth $88. And finally a day of sunshine and warmth! So what do you do on a sunny day??? Go to lemonade! mmmm.
And now I'm interning at a art gallery. Hopefully all goes well and I learn a lot from this experience, so far so good. Also I pray that my clumsy self doesn't destroy anything....

This video by Paul Minor....I have no words for it, it's amazing.

It really inspires me for the upcoming shoot that I'm suppose to do for sixhundred. We've already decided that we're going to base the video off of a Hans Christian Andersen tale!

And I'm in love with Renata Raksha.
